Equipment and Conformity Assessment (EC) division at ALTER TECHNOLOGY covers a very wide range of activities oriented to execute testing and provide confidence for the regulation compliance (e.g.: CE marking, RTCA-DO, MIL standards, etc..) and other specific customer requirements. The services offered vary from EMC, RF, Radio, climatic, mechanical, optical, electrical, reliability or functional testing. The division is based on two departments, the Laboratory and the Certification Body.
You will lead the Certification Body Department (CB) within the Equipment Conformity Assessment division, overseeing certification activities across multiple domains including cybersecurity, drones (UAS), security systems and radio equipment.
The role combines strategic leadership, operational management, and business development, with a strong focus on ensuring compliance with international regulations and delivering high-value services to our clients.
ALTER TECHNOLOGY is looking for a Manager to lead the Certification Body (CB) department.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The main tasks to be performed:
• Lead and develop the Certification Body as a business unit, ensuring growth, profitability and operational excellence
• Define and drive the strategy for new certification services, especially in emerging areas such as cybersecurity and digital regulations
• Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team (operations, technical experts, auditors and support functions)
• Oversee the full certification lifecycle, including:
• Customer engagement
• Proposal and quotation review
• Project execution
• Certification decision process
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and accreditation requirements (ISO/IEC 17065 and related frameworks)
• Drive customer relationships, acting as a key interface with strategic clients and partners
• Monitor performance through KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage external partners, laboratories and subcontractors involved in certification activities
• Support the organization in digitalization and process optimization initiatives
• Represent the company in technical committees, standardization activities or industry forums (as required)
REQUIREMENTS
Background
• Degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Electronics, Industrial or similar)
• Solid experience in certification, testing, or conformity assessment environments
• Knowledge of product regulations (e.g. RED, EMC, cybersecurity frameworks, etc.)
• Experience managing projects, teams or technical activities
Experience: Well experienced in a similar role.
• Proven experience in industrialisation and electronic products, and European or international environment
• Working knowledge of CE Marking, EU Directives, mainly Electromagnetic Compatibility (Directive EMC 2014/30/EU), Radio Equipment (Directive RED 2014/53/EU) and Low Voltage (Directive LVD 2014/35/EU), and associated harmonized standards.
• Working knowledge of Quality management systems ENAC QMS (Labs ISO 17025, CBs ISO/IEC 17065).
• Knowledge of testing & certification processes

ADVANTAGEOUS SELECTION CRITERIA
• Experience in cybersecurity certification or digital regulatory frameworks (ie: CRA, EN 18031 RED,…)
• Qualification as product auditor.
• Working experience in conducting quality or product audits and performing technical analysis concerning the product design.
• Knowledge and experience in the following areas will be an asset:
• Security & Alarms products sector (Product standards of EN 50131 family)
• Product testing services.
• Testing laboratory operations and management of regulations.
